Chapter 12 Dear Diary   Ralph is hiding in the jungle. He is thinking about the deaths of Simon and me. Ralph comes across the Lord of the Flies head which is just a white skull now as white as the conch shell was. Being angry he knocks the head to the ground and uses stake to use as a weapon against Jack. Ralph meets up with Sam n Eric and they tell Ralph Jack plans to send the tribe after him. The boys try to go after Ralph but he fends them off. Ralph realizes he set the jungle on fire and leaves his hiding place and fights his way from Jack and the hunters. Ralph is finally on the beach. He looks up and sees a naval officer standing over him. Ralph and the others realizes they are being rescued and they start to cry.   I felt nervous when Ralph was being hunted by Jack and his hunters. I was praying and looking over Ralph through it all especially when the fire started. I am very glad Ralph made it out of the jungle alive and made it on the beach. I had tears of joy wh

Chapter 11 Dear Diary   We are trying to make a fire but it is hopeless because we do not have my glasses. I told Ralph to call for a meeting to discuss our opinions. Ralph demanded Jack to give me back my glasses and Jack demands Ralph to leave his camp. I try to speak to remind the group of the rules. Roger shoves a massive rock down the mountain. Ralph hears it falling so he dodges it. The boulder hits me and shatters the conch shell I am holding and knocks me off the mountain to my death on the rocks below.   I feel very sad that I have died. Jack is a horrible person and if anyone was going to die it should have been him. I am looking down at Ralph and praying he will survive.   In the next chapter I think Ralph will stay in touch with Sam n Eric. He will be surviving on his own and try his very best to be safe. Chapter 10 Dear Diary,   Ralph and me meet on the beach. We are sore and bruised from what happened last night. I can’t confront what I did in Simon’s death and think it is an accident. Ralph said we committed a murder but I deny that it is a murder. I know why Jack and his hunters stole my glasses is because they started a fire.   I feel horrible about what happened to Simon. It is very sad and it shouldn’t have had happen. I also feel Jack and his hunters shouldn’t have stolen my specs if they would have asked then I would give it to them maybe.   In the next chapter I think we will go and confront Jack and his hunters. They will tie us up and try to teach us a lesson. I will die and it will be horrible.                                               Signed, Piggy

Chapter 9 Dear Diary,   Me and Ralph go to the feast and hope that we will have some control over some events. Ralph and me are excited and dance with the group. We see a shadowy figure in the woods and it is Simon. We all thought Simon was the beastie. Simon tries to explain but they beat him and fall on him and kill him.   I feel like we all got a long most of the time we were at the feast and it felt good. Then we were scared and saw what we thought was the beastie. Me and Ralph are sad about what we did to Simon.   What I think will happen in the next chapter is that Ralph and me will talk about Simon. We’ll think he didn’t deserve to die. And I believe in the next chapter Jack and his hunters will go off again and kill some more.                                            Signed, Piggy

Chapter 8 Dear Diary,   I was not on that mountain that night but I am still shocked by the other boys who saw the monster. I am happy to see Jack go and storm off from the group. My idea to Ralph makes him hope again that we will be rescued. Me and Ralph are in the old camp talking about the deserters.   I feel like Jack and Ralph need to stop arguing and start to find out how to get along. I hope we get rescued soon. I also feel like I want to see the beastie for my own eyes.   What I think is going to happen in the next chapter is that Jack and his hunters are going to hunt a lot. I believe there is going to be a big storm coming our way. Chapter 7 Dear Diary,   Me and the Littluns are at the shelters. I am trying to keep them under control while Ralph and everyone are out in the woods trying to hunt for the Beastie. Ralph and everyone else are still out I just thought they went to go hunting. Simon came back from hunting to tell me that Ralph and them are going to return until late that night. Taking care of the Littluns is a huge deal because they are out of control.   I feel like Ralph and them shouldn’t have been out hunting that long. I feel like someone else should stay with me next time because the Littluns are out of control and hard to take care of. I really hope that Ralph, Jack, and the hunters are safe and catch something.   I think what will happen next is that Ralph and everyone else will come back to the platform. I believe we will have a meeting and Jack will call it. I think Jack is going to try to become chief instead of Ralph being chief still.                                          S

Chapter 6 Dear Diary,   It’s late at night Simon and Ralph carry a Littlun back to the shelter before they went to sleep. While we were sleeping there was two airplanes shooting at each other one broke and the pilot feel out. The pilot got caught in the trees because of his parachute and we all thought it might have been the beastie. The boys set out over the island to search for the beastie. Me and the Littluns stay back.   I feel worried and scared. The beastie might be real so Ralph and everyone else went out to do a search. I am hoping it isn’t real and while they go out and search me and the Littluns stay behind.   I think in the next chapter they boys will be hunting. I believe they’ll have to go back to me and the Littluns to tell us something. I also believe that we might be fine after all but just have some things to worry about.                                     Signed, Piggy                                         

Chapter 5   We are talking about the beastie. Ralph said there are no monsters on the island. Jack says there is no beast everyone gets frightened and it’s something you have to put up with. I agree what Ralph says but some fear runs through our entire group. I get tormented by Jack and runs away and the other boys runs after him. Only me, Ralph, and Simon are left.   I feel like everyone is afraid of this beastie when there isn’t one. Every is worrying maybe about nothing but maybe about something. I feel like Jack shouldn’t be tormenting me but I am happy that the other boys ran after him. Jack and his hunters go to the water to hunt the beastie if it is real and I hope that me and Ralph are right and there is no beastie.   In the next chapter I think Jack and his hunters will come back with nothing. He’ll tell us that there is no beastie and me and Ralph will tell the Littluns that there is nothing to fear about. I think I am still going to be tormented by Jack but I am

Symbols   The beastie is an imaginary creature. The beastie represents fear. Simon thinks its “them” all people can be good or bad. Ralph thinks it’s the Littluns imagination. Piggy doesn’t believe in the beastie. The Littluns think it is a snake. Jack doesn’t care he is going to kill whatever it is.   The conch shell is a shell they use to listen to whoever has it talk. It represents civilization. Everyone uses it when they have a meeting. Mostly Ralph uses it because he is chief and tries to get the rules across everyone so they understand it. In the beginning the boys wouldn’t let Piggy use the conch and speak what he had to say.   The glasses are used for many things. The glasses are Piggy’s so he can see because without them he is like blind. The glasses represent vision (to see and think). The glasses are used for the fire. When Jack slapped piggy in the face his glasses fell off and ½ of the glasses crack and cannot be used for a fire starter.   

Chapter 4 Dear Diary   We’re still trapped on this island. Then me and Ralph saw smoke in the distance of the water. We were finally going to get rescued but then our fire went out. We were furious because Sam and Eric had to look over the fire but they went with Jack and his hunters to go hunting. Me and Ralph went up to the mountain to confront Jack. Ralph let him be happy for a little bit because he finally killed a pig. Then we confront Jack saying he had one job him and his hunters to keep the fire going. Jack did not care one bit. Then we had a feast but Jack said I didn’t need any and I didn’t help hunt for the pig. I confronted Jack and was proud about it.   I felt furious about what happened. I was also proud that I stood up to Jack and told him that I wasn’t the only one who didn’t help hunt for the pig Ralph, Simon, and the Littluns hadn’t helped either. I was wishing that we was going to get rescued finally but no it never happened. I’m so angry because Jack sl

The Beastie   The Littluns think the beastie is a snake. Ralph thinks it’s the Littluns imagination. Piggy doesn’t believe in the beastie. Simon thinks its “them” all people can be mean or good. Jack doesn’t care he is just going to kill whatever it is.   I think the beastie is a made up monster. I think the Littluns believe in it because they are just little and believe in anything. I believe it’s made up because how they talk about the beastie it sounds like its fake.

Chapter 3 Huts on the Beach Dear Diary   We are on the island. It is so hot and we are starving. A pig evades Jack through the thick jungle and it irritates him so he walks back to the beach. He finds Ralph and Simon working on huts to build for the younger boys to live in. Ralph gets mad because the huts are keep breaking and no one will help him except for Simon.   Jack and Ralph argue about different things and one of them is that Jack’s hunters can’t catch any pigs. I was watching everyone do things especially Jack, Ralph, and Simon. I gave up helping out with the huts after we first tried it. I sat back and relaxed and tried to stay cool in this hot weather. Ralph and Jack went swimming in the lagoon and tried not to be mad at each other but that didn’t work.   I think in the next chapter Ralph and Jack are still going to be arguing with each other. I will help out and try to make things better for everyone especially for Jack and Ralph. Ralph might set up another
